Morning after pill

The Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) — also known as the morning after pill — is available without an appointment if you think you may be at risk of pregnancy within 72 hours (three days) of unprotected sex. If you’re unsure or have questions, just drop in and talk to one of our pharmacists — we’re here to help.

You do not need to be 16 years or older to obtain the ECP. However, our pharmacists are legally required to ensure you can give informed consent and that you understand the information and advice provided.

We must supply the ECP directly to the woman concerned, as a short consultation is required. This includes reviewing your medical history and calculating your Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is important because a higher BMI can reduce the effectiveness of the ECP, and in some cases, an alternative treatment may be recommended.

No appointment is necessary, and if you are under 25, there is no charge.

You can trust our team to provide confidential, supportive care and clear advice — so you can make the right choice for your health.
